Party Hearty....just don't SMUSH the cake!

While we were planning our son's birthday party a few weeks ago, it was exhausting but fun and it really  reminded of birthdays past......I got to thinking about our birthday cake disaster a few years back and have vowed never to let the madness take over again!!!

It was a day after our then 2 year old daughter's birthday. It was rainy...or was it sunny? Ok thats irrelevant. Anyway, being 9 months pregnant, tired and miserable from the party the night before we were both a little snippy. Now I cant remember how it started...but I do remember how it ended ...

I do remember that being a hormonal pregnant person, I'm not one for being reasonable or understanding in fact, I think those words totally escape my vocabulary.

Anyway, this time CAKE was the enemy. For Aleeshah's birthday, Rodge had brought the most beautiful ($100.00) princess cake for his little princess. After the party, there was quite a lot of cake leftover which we had brought back from the party.

Now, like I stated before, I can't remember exactly but I had put a piece of cake into a plate for hubby to deliver to his friends but he was getting upset for some reason. Well the argument become more and more heated and ended up with hubby being very brave and bold and knocking the cake right out of my hand and onto the floor and storming out in anger!

The END??? Hahahaha...Like I said, pregnant and hormonal....can't argue with that-boy was I mad! How dare he throw the cake on the floor and just leave...that DARNED cake...how I hated hubby but even more I hated the cake....it was the cake's fault!!!! If there was no cake ....there would be no argument, and no cake on the floor.  The CAKE MUST DIE!!!!

In the heat of the moment  I decided that yes ....no one is going to get that cake! I opened the box with the beautiful princes cake (or what was left of it -and there was a lot!) and smushed it all with my bare hands like a crazy woman on crack!!!!! Then, I calmly went to the washroom and washed my hands, picked up the cake and placed it outside by the front door and waited for hubby to get home.

I think he wanted to cry when he saw it but held back the tears. He calmly picked up the box and brought it back to the house. I think he tried to put it back together again -but he later told me that while he was standing on the porch looking at the smushed up mess that was once a gorgeous yummy cake, all he wanted to do was push my face into the box - but held back.

Oh well, it was a loss of control but worst off, it was loss of a really yummy cake-Moral of the story: Party hearty but don't smush the cake cuz when you want some later......LOL!!!
